the average away ticket prices (for the Championship), the average price of a pint, the average hotel cost, the distance from the city centre and train station to the stadium, as well as the atmosphere, safety, food and drink, view, and facilities, as voted for by fans.
We gave each factor a score out of 10 (or 5 for some factors) and then weighted this according to its importance to provide a final score out of 100.

The vibrant nightlife, combined with the city’s rich football heritage, makes Newcastle a top destination for away fans.

Stadium: Gtech Community Stadium
Away Day Score: 80.87 out of 100
Moving to the opposite end of the country now, Brentford earned second place for the best away day for Premier League fans, scoring 80.87 out of 100. Stadium: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Away Day Score: 80.79 out of 100
Tottenham Hotspur completes our top three away days in the Premier League, with a score of 80.79 out of 100. Last season, Tottenham finished in fifth place, demonstrating their continued competitiveness in the league.
The North London club earned its high scores mostly due to its high-quality stadium. As voted for by fans, Tottenham boasts one of the best facilities and stadium views in the entire study, scoring an impressive 4.5 out of 5 for both factors. The state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which opened in 2019, has quickly become renowned for its modern amenities and excellent sightlines.

Crystal Palace is the worst away day in the Premier League
1.Crystal Palace
Stadium: Selhurst Park
Away Day Score: 61.14 out of 100
Crystal Palace has earned the unfortunate title of being the worst away day in the Premier League, scoring 61.14 out of 100. Last season, Crystal Palace finished in tenth place, showing a solid performance, despite their low away day score.
The South London club scored low across the board, receiving a 2 out of 5 for facilities and just 2.5 for food and drink. One of the factors contributing to the low score is the high cost of accommodation in the capital, with the average price for a hotel room being a steep £366.
Crystal Palace, established in 1905, has a long football history and a loyal fan base. Selhurst Park, their home ground, is known for its passionate atmosphere despite its older facilities. The club has become a mainstay in the Premier League, often punching above its weight with spirited performances.
South London offers a diverse range of experiences for visiting fans, although the high cost of living can be a drawback. The area around Selhurst Park has several local pubs, with 12 venues available within 1 mile of the stadium! Sadly, the facilities at the stadium itself, leave much to be desired according to fan ratings.
2.West Ham United
Stadium: London Stadium

The East London club scored low in several key areas, which contributed to its overall rating. The atmosphere at the London Stadium received a 2.5 out of 5, while the safety of the stadium also scored a slightly 2.5 out of 5. Despite the modernity of the London Stadium, which was originally built for the 2012 Olympics, it seems fans have mixed feelings about the matchday experience it offers.
As with most of the other London-based clubs, another significant drawback for away fans is the cost associated with visiting the capital. The average price for a hotel room in the area is relatively high at £366, and a pint costs you £7.57 on average!
3.Everton
Stadium: Goodison Park
Away Day Score: 70.16 out of 100

However, the construction of a brand-new Everton stadium is currently in progress. This stadium will become the new home ground for Everton ahead of the 2025–26 season, replacing Goodison Park. Therefore, Everton’s away day experience is set to improve within the next two seasons.
One positive aspect for away fans visiting Everton is the relatively affordable accommodation in Liverpool compared to other major cities. The average hotel price in the area is more reasonable at £132, and the average cost of a pint is only £5.47. Hopefully, with the new stadium in progress, Everton will improve their experience for away day fans.

Stadium: Kassam Stadium
Away Day Score: 57.74 out of 100
Oxford United has earned the unfortunate title of being the worst away day in the Championship, scoring 57.74 out of 100. A recently promoted club, Oxford United defeated the Bolton Wanderers in the League One play-off final scoring 2-0. In light of this, it seems Oxford United will be an entertaining watch throughout the next season.
The South East club scored low in several key areas that contributed to its overall rating. The Kassam Stadium, received low marks for its facilities, with fans rating them 2.5 out of 5. The atmosphere at the stadium also received modest reviews, scoring 2.5 out of 5, highlighting these aspects need improvement for visiting away fans.
Additionally, the stadium’s location is somewhat distant from the city centre at 4.6 miles, therefore this may be inconvenient for visiting fans.
The Kassam Stadium, opened in 2001, is known for its unique three-sided design, but it has often been criticised for the lack of atmosphere found in more traditional football grounds. Oxford itself offers a wealth of cultural and historical attractions, with its world-renowned university and beautiful architecture. However, the city’s amenities and local charm do not fully translate to the matchday experience at Kassam Stadium.

QPR, founded in 1882, has a long history and a very dedicated fan base. Loftus Road, known for its compact and intimate setting, provides a traditional football atmosphere, but its ageing infrastructure has been a point of criticism among fans.
